Research Associate Upper Extremity fixed-term 01.03.2026-30.06.2028 (a)
- PhD in a relevant biomedical field (e.g., clinical research, health science, epidemiology)
- Significant record of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating scientific productivity and impact.
- Strong analytical skills and sound knowledge of statistical methodology, ideally with experience managing large datasets
- Experience with R, Stata or similar analytical software; machine learning experience is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of the clinical research process from planning through to publication
- Familiarity with orthopaedic research; direct experience in upper extremity outcomes research is an advantage
- Excellent English (spoken and written, especially scientific/medical English); German comprehension or willingness to learn
- Well-developed communication and organisational skills; ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Passionate about research, with integrity and the ability to work under pressure
- Independently lead and conduct research projects in shoulder and elbow surgery
- Design and implement studies, manage data collection and analysis, and ensure data quality
- Perform advanced statistical analyses and contribute to machine learning-based modelling
- Write and publish high-quality scientific papers; present at national and international conferences
- Participate in grant writing
- Collaborate closely with clinicians and external partners
- Supervise students, research assistants, and study assistants
- Contribute to the strategic development of the research group
